The permanent Nativity scene is situated in a private area in contrada Torre-Pirato, just outside built-up areas. Its structure with an old trough, a mill, the huts and the small houses is a reproduction of a real old village.Inside the houses there are ancient tools used in the past.
Moreover there are real barnyard animals such as hens, gooses and rabbits. Interesting and funny attraction for all ages.
The actual structure is unique of its kind, with a central body and two semicircular side wings. It has eighteen panels representing fourteen of the stations of Via Crucis and four of Via Lucis.
The ruins along the way evoke the past mining activities linked to gypsum and sulphur.Perfect place for spring and fall excursions.
Area protetta dal 1992, “Gabbara” è una zona boschiva, un percorso dedicato agli amanti dell'archeologia industriale, della geologia e della flora e fauna.
