The caves was a necropolis but through the centuries it served as dwelling, stable, tannery and tavern.
The rocks have a hole pointed towards the summer solstice sunset and an altar stands in the middle and coud be reached using a flight of steps.
The ruins along the way evoke the past mining activities linked to gypsum and sulphur.Perfect place for spring and fall excursions.
6.30 pm - Departure of the procession from the Second Teaching Circle School in the direction of the War Memorial in Piazza degli Eroi.
8:00 pm - Re-enactment of the process of Jesus before Pontius Pilate with over 200 figures in the guise of commoners, handmaids, knights and legionaries.
9.00 pm - The three falls recall Jesus' path to Calvary. The procession runs along Corso Sicilia and ends near the Town Hall.
